The county fair in Fort Bend County is back! Last year, there were fewer people at the fair because of the outbreak of COVID-19. However, this year, those who did not have a chance to go last year will be attending. The fair consists of a carnival, singers, a livestock show, and a rodeo. We spoke with Austin High School students about their experiences at the county fair.

Have you ever been to a fair nearby before?

Mya Nguyen: “Yes! I have been going ever since I was in middle school.”

Rafay Tai: “Yes, definitely.”

Maryam Quadri: “Of course. Ever since I moved to this area, I haven’t missed a year at the fair.”

What are fairs usually like in Fort Bend?

Mya Nguyen: “In Fort Bend ISD, the fairs are usually fun with the rodeos, livestock, and games.”

Rafay Tai: “They are great fun and you get to spend time with friends. It’s a place with positive vibes and everyone is there to just relax, so it’s a damp atmosphere. Combined with the games and food, there is no shortage of things to do. I particularly love the ice cream.”

Maryam Quadri: “They have so many things to do. You can watch the performances, go on rides, hang out with friends, walk around, go to the rodeo, look at livestock, and of course, eat.”

Do you recommend other students at Austin High School to go?

Mya Nguyen: “Yes, I recommend people to go because the rides there are extremely fun.”

Rafay Tai: “Absolutely. Please go if you get the chance, you won’t regret it. ”

Maryam Quadri: “Definitely. If you have the opportunity to, then why would you miss it?”

Join the rest of Fort Bend County on their trip to the county fair. As many members of the community say, you will not regret it. Relax, eat some ice cream, and have fun while it lasts. Do not miss the chance to go, it’s only an annual occasion.
